MATTI THE CAT'S JOURNEY IN NORTHERN NORWAY

Meow long time! I will tell you about my trip to Northern Norway, the birthplace of my ancestors. The servants had been talking for a couple of years about going to visit Norway. Finally the moment came and we set off! We packed a lot of stuff into the car and reportedly half of it was mine. I traveled in the back seat in a big box with my stuff. We first stopped in Oulu for lunch and then continued on the Swedish side to Haaparanta. I waited in the car while the servants shopped for my pastes... well, I guess they bought something for themselves too. From Haaparanta, we returned back to the Finnish side and turned our nose towards the north. We drove to Aavasaksa for the first night. There we had a nice cottage with a loft for me! The servants went to eat and the make-up mat stayed in the cabin muttering his own nonsense and taking care of the bathroom chores. Then we went for a walk outside and looked at the scenery, I also saw a couple of dogs. I had a very good night's sleep in the cabin. In the morning, we still went for a short run, because we had a long car journey ahead of us.

We still stopped on the Finnish side at Kilpisjärvi and I changed from the hood to a backpack so that I could join for lunch. In the restaurant, an awful lot of people came to greet me! I ate paste as a snack and the journey continued. The border between Finland and Norway came quite quickly and I was able to show my passport. The customs officer alternately looked at me and my passport photo, luckily I was able to keep the same look as in the passport, so we got to the Norwegian side. And Wow, what landscapes! The landscape changed almost immediately after the border! We drove to Ytre Tomasjord for the first night. We had really nice accommodation there, like a glass cabin. There were great views of the fjord from there. The servants bathed in such a tub and I watched the action from behind the glass. From there, such bubbles rose from the tub, it was exciting to watch them. I can't help but wonder who wants to lay in a tub and get their fur wet.

The next morning we continued our journey towards Tromssa. The city seemed really nice! We went to the hotel and I stayed in the room while the servants went to eat. The hotel room was not to my taste - the window was so high that I couldn't see out! And then it got pretty hot for such a guy in wool pants when there was no air conditioning in the room. The servants liked the city, so much so that they decided to stay in Tromsø for another night. The servants looked for a better hotel for us and booked it. The next day we went on a day trip to Sommarøy. There were fine white sandy beaches and turquoise sea water. I went to the beach to splash around as a beach boy. But the wildest thing in Sommarøy was the horses! I was sitting in the front seat on the servant's lap, when I saw the horses in the pasture, I went completely crazy! I just stared at them and shook. It was wild. We drove the same great scenic route back to Tromsø. But my things were carted to the hotel with such a hotel cart! The servants had now chosen a much better room, there was a window sill and a really great view and air conditioning. I went pawing in the evening in Tromssa, after which I ate dinner and went to bed.

In the morning, the trip continued to Senja island. We went on the previous day's trip to Sommarøy to see the ferry queue and decided to drive overland to Senja. There was a nice waterfall along the way, which we visited to admire. My trip went smoothly in the back seat to Senja and there we stayed in a nice detached house. The lodge had plenty of space for us, and it was nice to look around the yard from the windows. We ate and went on an evening hike. We jumped in the car and drove to a very nice place to watch the sunset! High mountains rose from all sides and we were on such a plain. I climbed on big rocks and admired the scenery. We drove back to the accommodation and I still wanted to go outside in the yard. In the evening, the servants talked about being able to stay in the same lodging for another night, but unfortunately someone had already booked it. Then the servants frantically looked for accommodation for us and one was found in the northern part of the island.

After a good night's sleep, the servants packed me and the things into the car and the journey continued to the island tour. We first drove to the really nice island of Hysøy. We went there along a very narrow and winding road. We went to the north side of the island to see the lighthouse. I didn't have time to take many steps outside the car when a really nice woman came to talk to me. He was from Italy and told that he dreamed of seeing a Norwegian forest cat on his trip to Norway. Well, there I was and he praised and admired me! I blushed to my woolen pants! From that small island, we continued our journey to our main destination of the day, i.e. Hesteni. The peak of Hesten reaches a height of 556 meters above sea level, i.e. a very high mountain, at least from our cats' point of view! But we packed our backpacks and then headed towards the hood of the mountain. The path at the beginning of the journey was in a beautiful birch forest. The servants complained of the heat and cooled themselves in a stream along the route. When we reached the tree line, the sun got to warm us hikers properly! The backpack was swinging comfortably on the servant's back and I had fallen asleep in my backpack. People admired me and every now and then I opened my eyes for a moment. Fortunately, I had my own sherpa and I didn't have to take a single step. We finally got to the top and Wow what landscapes! At that point, I had to get out of my backpack to straighten my trunk and admire the scenery. We sat on a rock and enjoyed the scenery while eating snacks, of course I ate tahnuli. It was a place of celebration for me - the first mountain summit! Then I jumped into my backpack and we went down the same route. After the excursion, the servants' stomachs were so full that we went to a nearby restaurant. Along the way to the accommodation there was a fine sandy beach where the servants used to swim.

The next night was spent in Hamn i Senja. There I met the first cat of the trip, which unfortunately was free-roaming. The cat was from Ukraine and had moved to Norway with his servants. Spent the night in a small and hot room, but there was nothing else available at short notice. Otherwise, the place was really nice and cozy. In the morning we woke up to rain and decided to point the nose of the car towards Finland. We had been favored by really good weather during the whole trip. The servants booked accommodation in Kilpisjärvi for the next night. A very nice hotel room was waiting for us when we arrived! The room had a large window overlooking the forest. I looked at the scenery enchanted and saw something nice in the forest. We went for an evening taxi ride and then it was already time for sleep.

After breakfast, it was time to pack the car again and drive through Haaparanta to Oulu for the night. And a surprise awaited me at the hotel! There was a small climbing tree in the room! Very rare cat attention. I went on an evening adventure in the corridors of the hotel and then it was time to go to bed. In the morning, we drove home and both of us slept in our own Kissapuu at home. Meow, what a great trip to the ancestral lands!
